Words

Our words affect others on a daily basis. We can cause them to be happy, angry, or defensive, lonely, sad. Words can bring people together, or turn everyone against each other. Words can be the truth, or they can be lies. They can produce envy, strife, and evil suspicions. On the other hand they can produce hope, love, faith. Words are so important to God that He writes down everything we say. Our words are an expression of our personality and a window to our soul. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” Matthew 12:37 NKJV  God knows our heart, our thoughts, our feelings.

If anyone teaches otherwise and does not agree to the sound instruction of our Lord Jesus Christ and to godly teaching,  they are conceited and understand nothing. They have an unhealthy interest in controversies and quarrels about words that result in envy, strife, malicious talk, evil suspicions  and constant friction between people of corrupt mind, who have been robbed of the truth and who think that godliness is a means to financial gain. From such withdraw yourself. 1 Timothy 6:3-5  NIV  For when leaders  speak great swelling words of emptiness, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through lewdness, the ones who have actually escaped from those who live in error. 2 Peter 2:18 NKJV For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. Romans 16:18 NKJV  Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. Ephesians 5:6  NKJV

John the Apostle tells us about the Incarnation of the Word of Life. That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked at and our hands have touched – this we proclaim concerning the Word of life. 1 John 1:1 NIV  And in John 1:11,14 he tells us. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. For there are three that bear witness in heaven. The Father, The Word, and the Holy Spirit. 1 John 5:7 NIV   The Word being none other than Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world.  He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation.  For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him.  And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. Colossians 1:15-17 NKJV

God is His Word just as we are our words. So in everything we do we should give life with our words.  We should give love, and hope to one another. We should choose our words carefully, because words can change the life of someone who is heavy-hearted.  Our words of encouragement  lead to words of salvation. We can give the words of God, and share eternal life with all who will listen. Christ said, “If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7  NKJV This is how we overcome Satan by the blood of the Lamb, and the words of our testimony.
