We are a generation that has lost its purpose. We search frantically all over the globe for a reason to exist. We experiment in every type of cultural art there is available. We have lost our true identity, and the knowledge of the reason we were created. God created us with a specific purpose in mind, and it is imprinted in our DNA. Look back in history, go to the most remote jungle in the world, you will find one common thread that links all races of people throughout all of time. We have this fundamental desire to worship God, but because of all the confusion and mixed directions of the world, we get it wrong. We look in every direction there is except inside our self. God is screaming out at us, “Look at Me, I am yours to glorify, worship, and adore. This is the reason I created you, so you can be in Me, and I in you in perfect universal love and harmony.”
God came to Adam and Eve, in the cool of the evening, walking through the garden of His creation. We do not hear Him talking about fellowship with birds, planets, or other creatures of His creation, only man. Over the centuries mankind has worshipped every type of animal, planet, and disgusting metal creation you can imagine. Without the knowledge of God, we worship the created instead of the Creator. Before the fall of mankind, Adam and Eve had mutual fellowship with God, resulting in a wondrous harmony of pleasure and joy. After the fall, fig-leaf worship began—where we find anything we can to hide our nakedness from God. Where we are always focusing on the external things of God’s creation, and never looking back to find Him standing there, all alone, in the garden of our mind.
From the beginning, Adam blamed Eve, the woman, for the condition of his soul. This blaming has continued until present day, and it makes it obvious that sin has damaged our internal modem of worship. In that single moment Eve, then Adam, rebelled against God, short-circuiting the wiring of our brain, and resulting in the total depravity of mankind. We have forgotten the purpose of our existence so we wander the earth with a spiritual and moral deficiency. We, as a race of intelligent beings, have lost all perspective of the life God bestowed upon us, weakening our spiritual core and making us easy prey for manipulators. Now we walk around in a spiritual coma, not knowing who we are or our true identity. The Biblical definition of worship is “Christ within you,” so we might have a relationship with the Creator of all things. I believe this is a special relationship only offered to man because we were created in His image. This relationship meant so much to God that He sacrificed His only Son so He may save those of us who were lost to sin. He does not offer this special friendship to the angels, and I believe this made them very jealous. I know for a fact Lucifer erupted with anger and tried to place his stars above the throne of God, and he led a revolt that put a third of the angels in chains, exposing a flaw in the genetics.
Deep down in the soul of every human on earth is an insatiable desire to worship God. It is a desire to know our purpose in life, which is a residual memory of our existence prior to the fall. Oh come, let us worship and bow down; Let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God. “Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; The whole earth is full of His glory!” (Psalms 95:6-7; Isaiah 6:3) We all have this emptiness or hollowness inside our souls that yearns for the presence of God. I am a miracle of modern medicine. Through the advances in science my life has been prolonged for many years, but what good does it accomplish if we have no purpose or direction in life? Many today have no idea where they are going, no idea where they are, and no idea where they have been. They are all living a life of circles, always searching but never knowing the knowledge of the truth. Our supreme objection is to look in the face of the holiness of God, and become illuminated with the glory of His presence.
Every person’s inner goal is to discover their true character. The beginning of our journey starts with the discovery of who we are. Trust me, the most people have it all wrong. They are looking in the wrong direction, and are looking for the wrong reason. Satanic manipulators have manufactured so many philosophies for the control of man’s soul it is a true miracle from God that the Jesus way is still available. Take a hard working man who consumes all of his time on the job. He puts his forty or more years in, retires, and soon after he dies. Everything he worked hard for goes to nothing. Look at the educated who spend their life in the studies of their chosen profession. All comes to nothing when they die, because there is no purpose to their soul. The example can be applied to all of us. We are the walking dead who have no purpose in life, and one day we will fall off into hell without knowing why we are here. Suicide is at an all-time high because people lack purpose. In today’s world we live by the philosophies of excitement and entertainment. Sex, drugs, and media are the things we fill our mind with to the detriment of our well being. Many who search out the thrills in life will run out of time and eventually lose the ability to experience their passion.
God created all things for His own pleasure. “You are worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power; For You created all things, and by Your will they exist and were created.” (Revelation 4:11) The day that God created man, heaven was enthralled with excitement. It was a day of celebration when all the sons of God sang for joy. Man is the favorite of the universe, created out of love and compassion from the heart of God. Everything God creates is a reflection of His personality, and the creation of man brought Him great joy. We were made like Him so we could provide Him more pleasure than any other creature. An example of the love He has for us can be seen in the eyes of a mother as she gazes down at her newborn infant. Man is the mirror image of God, in which He looks to see the reflection of Himself, and man is the manifestation of God’s glory. Man’s destination is to bathe in the light of the glory of God, and reflect that light to all of His new creation.
It has to be stated that the journey of the fall of mankind was in God’s mind from the beginning. Even the angels were not aware of good and evil until the fall of Lucifer. Prior to this only God had experienced sin, and had knowledge of evil. This massive creative undertaking was designed to bring us closer to who God is and to show the angels and us the magnitude of the love He has for us. Will this be the only thing we have to overcome throughout all of eternity? I am not sure. Is this the end for fallen man and angels? I am not sure. I know they live throughout all of eternity, the heart and love of God is incomprehensible, and thanks to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ all the sins of mankind are forgiven.
Man, although he was made more like God than any other creature, has sunk to the depths of disparity. Our mirror is dimly lit and our eyes are darkened with our sinful nature. All appears to be lost, but out of the insatiable passion of God comes the “brightness of His glory, and the express image of His person.” For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16) Through the incarnation of Jesus Christ, in the form of a man, God had the second Adam who walked this earth with a sinless reflection. So you see we have a genesis in Adam, and we have our regeneration in Jesus Christ so that true worship and redemption can take place through the body of Christ.
The Creator wants to have someone He can relate to on a personal level, and that relation is worship. The angels worship, but the close proximity of our relationship with God makes us more compatible and able to understand His character, to properly and sufficiently worship Him and satisfy His own relationship desires. When Adam sinned God still came to the garden calling out his name. I believe He knew where Adam was, but He was giving him a chance to come out on his own. God still desired worship even when Adam had broken their relationship. Even today there is not a race of people or a tribe anywhere on this earth that doesn’t practice some form of worship.
If man had not sinned, the worship of God would have continued to be the most natural thing man could do, because it was designed in our DNA. It is our special adapted music before God. He accepts worship only when it is pure and flows from the heart of a regenerated man, clarified by the Holy Spirit and compatible with His nature. Because of our inner desire to worship God, it is possible to have a religious experience and not meet the requirements of a perfect God. There are numerous cultures that worship God even when they reject God’s word. The things which the Gentiles sacrifice they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I do not want you to have fellowship with demons. You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons; you…cannot partake of the Lord’s table and of the table of demons. (1 Corinthians 10:20-21)
There are those who promote God, who convince others to follow God, but are doing so for their own personal profit. He does not accept their terms for a relationship with Him. They are not worshiping Him in spirit and in truth. They very well may lead many to follow Christ; however, their personal worship is not accepted. “Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’ And then I will declare to them, I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!” (Matthew 7:22-23) God is the creator of worship, and He has designated how we are to go about it.
We first have to have faith, given by God, which requires us to admit who He is and who Jesus Christ is. Many believe and refuse to own up to their sinful nature. They refuse to make the changes that God requires of us. We have to accept the reconciliation of God and humankind through Jesus Christ. Only those of us who have been renewed by the Holy Spirit are worthy to worship God. When our heart is in agreement with the Word of God then we know the truth and the truth sets us free to worship our Creator. It is as mystical as rays of light being absorbed by the heart of our soul and reflecting back the love we have for God—the love He has always had for us.
