A True Love Story

Let me introduce you to Adam. He was highly favored by God and lived for 930 years. Before his fall from grace I believe he had special abilities we do not have today. He walked with God in the Garden of Eden which is something we are unable to do today. The brilliance of God’s glory would kill us. Adam completed a massive undertaking for God by naming all the animals, birds, fish, reptiles, and, yes, I believe insects. He was God’s curator of creation.  Now the Lord God had formed out of the ground all the wild animals and all the birds in the sky. He brought them to the man to see what he would name them; and whatever the man called each living creature, that was its name. So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals. Genesis 2:19-20 NKJV  This is no easy matter, and I believe that Adam was capable of  all his mental faculties where today we use maybe 15 % of our brains capabilities.  He had many abilities we do not have because at first he was a sinless creature.

In the beginning the earth was prepared for man. God created the animals, the birds, and the fish in the sea prior to the creation of man.  And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Genesis 2:7 NKJV Our bodies are made up of some sixteen chemical elements. All these elements come from the ground, and even though man is made from dust, he is special because God gave him a spirit and a soul. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust, the body of a man returns to the ground, but the soul and the spirit return to God. This is what separates us from other creatures we are living souls. Adam was a vegetarian and did not eat meat until he fell from grace. This has no bearing on us because God has permitted us to eat all foods. God made every growing thing for man to eat of freely and placed Adam in the Garden of Eden. God instructed Him not to eat of the tree of life and the tree of good and evil. The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it.  And the Lord God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”  Genesis 2:15-17 NKJV

Adam worked very hard by day naming animals and caring for the Garden of Eden.  The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him.” So the Lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep; and while he was sleeping, he took one of the man’s ribs and then closed up the place with flesh.  Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man. Genesis 2:18, 21-22 NKJV  I want you to picture this scene in your mind for a moment. God leading Eve by the hand, and Adam seeing her for the first time. She was the most beautiful creature Adam had ever seen. Her beauty surpassed all his ideas of a mate, and when God placed her hand in his, his heart melted with love. Notice I say love, because sexual desire is only one part of the love story between husband and wife. Sex is a selfish emotion based in personal gratification, and even though it is has a very special part in a man and a woman’s relationship true love involves “death do we part.” The man said, “This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called ‘woman,’ for she was taken out of man.” Genesis 2:23 NKJV

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8 NIV  There you have the true recipe for love. Absolutely nothing is mentioned about sex. The number for God is three, and the number for man is six. A man and a women, body, spirit, soul connected into one love, one purpose, and one heart. The woman was taken from the ribs of man. Not his feet, or his head, because she is not to walk behind him or in front of him. She is to walk by his side.

     Wives should accept their husbands for who they are and not try to change them. This is God’s job through the work of the Holy Spirit. If your husband is practicing something that is contrary to the Word of God then we should encourage him to study the Bible. Generally families that study and worship God together have an adequate prayer life where disagreements can be brought before God. Husbands should love their wives for she is his greatest asset. She is fully capable and time should be spent building up trust with one another. A successful marriage is a team, a business partnership and a loving relationship all wrapped up in one. That is why a man leaves his father and mother, is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.  Genesis 2:24 NIV  This is why our lifestyle of open sexual relationships is so damaging. When you have sex with someone your spirits combine into one, and when you move on to someone else you have placed your spirit into the hands of Satan. You have opened yourself, and your relationship to satanic influence. This destroys the most beautiful experience a man and a woman can have.

Marriage is a beautiful symbol of the relationship that Jesus Christ (the bridegroom), and the church ( the bride) will have in heaven. The marriage feast of the Lamb is where all Christian believers will marry Chris not in a physical way, but in the most beautiful, spiritual way we could ever imagine. The sacrificial Lamb of God slain for those of us who believe on the name of Jesus Christ. The first family of God. Spiritual beings re-united with their glorious King, and becoming the first fruits of an immortal physical being. All other immortal creatures of God are spiritual and do not possess physical bodies. When we are raptured up to heaven we will be given bodies of flesh and bone. The corruption of sin will be defeated, and the need for blood and a system in which to oxygenate it and pump it through the body will no longer be necessary. Imagine the ability to commute through space, because we do not feel cold or have need for oxygen.

God freely gives us everything, and in return all we need to do is believe.  The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs – heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. Romans 8:16-18 NKJV Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. 1 John 3:2 NKJV  We are to live in obedience to our precious Savior, and to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ through (DBS&P), daily Bible study and prayer. We are to love one another as we love ourselves. We are to do unto others as we would have others do unto us. My friend, this is the greatest love story that has ever been told. It has been made possible by God who is Himself pure love.  Dear heavenly Father. I cannot thank you enough for loving me, caring for me, and providing me with an escape from sin. Thank you for Your Son and the free gift You bestowed on all of us who believe. In Jesus Christ’s name I pray. Amen.
